This policy explains what we collect, why, legal bases, how long we keep it,
who we share with, international transfers, your GDPR rights, and how to
exercise them.
Data We Collect
- Account: email/phone, DOB/age (18+ check), gender/identity, preferences, authentication data.
- Profile: photos, bio/prompts, interests, lifestyle tags; approximate location (city/area). We do not require precise GPS; if enabled by you, we process it on the legal basis stated below.
- Usage: matches, likes, blocks/reports, in-app interactions, crash logs, device identifiers, IP and coarse location (for abuse detection, fraud, localization).
- Communications: messages (for delivery and safety signals), support tickets, appeal submissions.
- Purchases: subscription tier, renewal status, receipts/transaction metadata from app stores (no full payment card data).
- Safety Signals: automated checks on text/images to detect potential policy violations (e.g., non-consensual nudity, minors’ safety, spam/scams). Flagging may trigger human review. (See DSA duties.)
Purposes & Legal Bases (GDPR)
- Provide the service (matching, discovery, messaging, profile, support) — Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Safety, abuse/fraud detection, integrity of systems — Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) and Legal obligation where applicable.
- Personalization & recommendations — Legitimate interests, with opt-outs where required.
- Subscriptions/billing — Contract and Legal obligation (accounting/records).
- Precise location, marketing notifications, or certain analytics — Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time. Withdrawing does not affect prior lawful processing.

You may optionally share sensitive data in your bio (e.g., sexual orientation). Where such data is processed, we rely on your
explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)) and allow deletion or editing at any time.
How We Use Safety & Moderation Signals (DSA)
- We use automated tools to surface likely violations (nudity of minors, non-consensual sexual content, grooming, scams, threats). Signals may lead to temporary limiting of reach or to human review.
- You can report illegal content in-app. We will notify you of major moderation actions and provide an appeal channel.
Sharing
- Service providers under data processing agreements (hosting, analytics, moderation, support, email/SMS, payments). Confidentiality and security controls are required.
- App stores/payment processors (Apple/Google) for purchase handling and fraud prevention.
- Law enforcement or authorities when required by law or to protect vital interests and safety.
- Corporate transactions (merger/sale) with appropriate safeguards and notice where required.
International Transfers
- Where data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) and supplementary measures consistent with GDPR.
Retention
- We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above and to comply with legal obligations. We anonymize or delete when no longer needed.
Your Rights (GDPR)
- Access, rectification, erasure (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restriction and objection to processing.
- Data portability.
- Withdraw consent at any time for consent-based processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
- To exercise rights, use in-app tools or email privacy@vybe.dating. Verification may be required.
Children
- VYBE is 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Contact support@vybe.dating if you believe a minor is using VYBE.
Security
- We implement encryption, access controls, and monitoring. No method is 100% secure. Report issues to security@vybe.dating.
Subscriptions & Consumer Information
- If you purchase via Apple/Google, manage or cancel in your store account settings; we cannot cancel on your behalf.
- We provide clear renewal, price, and cancellation information in-app. Under Norwegian/EU law for digital content/services, certain rights apply.
Changes to this Policy
- We may update this policy to reflect product, legal, or regulatory changes. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or via notice.
